The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Thursday to provide integrated information technology services to micro, small and medium-scale enterprises here.
“TCS has launched the IT-as-a-service business to address the growing IT needs of MSMEs and enable them to be competitive in a global environment,” said V. Ramaswamy, Global Head of Small and Medium Business, TCS.
Mr. Ramaswamy told presspersons here on Thursday that the aim was to offer integrated, end-to-end IT solutions, such as email, accounting and administration tools. A model had been developed and it would be validated now. The solution would be ready for use by October-November.
Typically, the MSMEs worked with different vendors and invested heavily in different tools, added C. Muthusami, CODISSIA President. Through this facility, the units would have access to integrated solutions for a monthly subscription fee.
Mr. Ramaswamy said TCS would enter into time-bound agreements with the units for the use of the solutions. In another two years, nearly 2,000 MSMEs here could benefit from this service.
